Cheo was born in Portland, Ore. on December 3, 1973, the second of three children of James and Pualani (Nakoa) Jackson. Cheo is survived by his parents, his wife Amy,  son Jason, and daughter Zoe. He is also survived by his brother Azikiwe Jackson, called Zik, sister-in-law Suzy, Zik’s daughters Felicity and Serenity, his sister Ayanna Moore, her daughter Makayla, and many other friends and family members.

Cheo had many passions and interests, and most recently was self-employed as a driver and photographer. His career included many years in the restaurant industry, where he was recognized as a consummate server, trainer, and wine expert. He was an avid competitor in sports throughout his lifetime, and enjoyed disc golf, table tennis, racquetball, and basketball. He graduated from Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, attended Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla., and graduated from Brookhaven College in Farmers Branch, Tex.

Rather than a formal service, Cheo’s wishes were to have friends and family celebrate his rich life of adventure and independence, and to remember him online, where he spent much time cultivating friendships on Twitter @cheojackson. His friends, in turn, have declared December 3 an Annual Day of Kindness #ForCheo, so Cheo’s love and kindness toward others can be passed on. The Celebration of Cheo Jackson’s Life page is on Facebook at fb.me/celebratingcheo. Cheo’s personal blog “Sensei of Truth” remains online at betweenthetwoextremes.blogspot.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to assist Cheo’s family with final expenses at PayPal.me/CheoJackson.
